Georgina Craig Associates (GCA) is a social business that works to create a people centred NHS. We believe that no matter where people are on life’s journey,
they deserve to be as healthy and happy as they can be – and that by focusing on and deeply understanding their perspective, our clients can support this. We
contribute by working with our clients to deliver them concrete business benefits through deeply people centred solutions. We are currently focused on providing
a range of expertise and support to create responsive, people centred management processes, including:
Experience led commissioning (ELC): GCA conceptualised the trademarked, innovative experience-led commissioning approach and has been working in partnership
with researchers at The University of Oxford’s Health Experience Research Group, Kings College and with our trailblazing commissioning partners to prototype ELC.
ELC provides a new way of approaching commissioning, service redesign and whole system change, which is evidence based and driven by the ambition to deliver a
fantastic care experience. It resonates perfectly with the NHS’s ambition to deliver ‘no decision about me without me’ and fills a significant gap in ‘know how’
for CCGs, The NHS Commissioning Board and policy makers at The Department of Health.
Experience based co-design (EBCD): working directly with the research team at Kings College that conceptualised EBCD, we support providers and commissioners
to explore co design of care that sees patients, carers and front line professionals working together within a structured, evidence based quality improvement programmes. EBCD is
recognised as one of the few evidence based improvement programmes currently available in the UK.
Leading edge social marketing support programmes: we help our clients conceptualise and implement transformational social marketing programmes using techniques
borrowed from a wide range of sectors – including fast moving consumer goods. We apply these techniques in both the social and health context so our clients
communicate and engage with people in meaningful ways that nudge and change their behaviour and encourage people to use services differently and more appropriately.
Corporate communications and marketing support: we combine our expert knowledge of reputation and brand management; the health sector; health policy and our insights into how
people access and process information across a community to help our clients to proactively manage, build and protect their reputation – including in the face of decommissioning.
We want our clients to be able to communicate and engage proactively with both their external stakeholders (local press; local people; providers; health trade press; Government;
National Commissioning Board; regulators and others) and internal ones (employees, constituent practices and staff) so they are free to be the best business or commissioning
organisation they can be. We specialise in helping commercial businesses market their services to NHS commissioners.
Assets based approaches: Coproduction will be one of the most effective ways of delivering services in a cold financial climate. We believe that the idea of
service users and communities being a key component of commissioning and service delivery processes are ideas whose time has come in health. We are helping the NHS to harness
an assets based approach and design commissioning strategies that support co-production, community engagement and stimulate innovation and new models of service provision. We
also support providers to introduce coproduced services that resonate with commissioners’ priorities.
Training, coaching and leadership development: we offer training, coaching and leadership development for our clients so that they embed these approaches within
their everyday practice.
